The Einstein Coat by Sally Melville

We have talked about offering this project for several years and are so excited about the upcoming class that we have had it on the calendar since November!
This fun, versatile jacket is knit entirely in garter stitch which makes it perfect for the beginning knitter as well as the "sage" knitters.
The Einstein Coat is found in Sally Melville's book The Knitting Experience: Book I, The Knit Stitch. The coat pattern includes generous size options from Small to XXL. It also comes in several different versions using either a worsted weight or a bulky weight yarn.
This project calls for around 1500-1800 yards of yarn for the worsted weight version and 3000-3600 yards for the bulkier version for the adult sizes. Several of us have chosen to knit our Einstein in Peruvian Tweed Alpaca doubled. I cannot describe how luscious this yarn is.
